"Confrontation"
is the finale song of the musical Jekyll and Hyde.
I had been caught between storyboarding a dramatic sequence or a musical sequence. Conveniently, Jekyll and Hyde, the melodramatic gothic horror show from the late 90s, has plenty of both! The show is unaffectionately nicknamed "Phantom Lite" (though it really takes more from Sweeny Todd) and it is packed with gloomy protagonists and weepy, lovelorn prostitutes. It is by no means a perfect . . . anything, and there are a million story choices I would change were I in charge of adapting the original story, but I have a great nostalgic affection for it nonetheless. The character designs from this sequence are from my own adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
